Argh [29 Apr 2008|12:15pm]
So the nature of fandom (and writing in general) is that there are no "original" ideas. I understand that just fine, but I can't help but be attached to an idea I've had for three or four years, nuturing it and its plot along on my own time and waiting until it gets good enough to post it.

Only to have a BNF in the same fandom post sketches similar to my idea and go LULZ TAKE MY PLOT BUNNY ZOMG.

It's not the SAME as mine, but I've had this problem before. I have ample proof I've been working on this idea for years - I talk about it all the time, show sketches; etc. But all the same, it'll be a manner of days before I start getting comments of "nice, but you stole this idea from X."

I don't mind that the BNF is working on/has had a similar idea. That happens.

What BOTHERS me is that people are going to act like I somehow stole it from her when I've been working on my idea for YEARS. This BOTHERS ME LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE.

I'll probably back off my own plotbunny now. *sighs* Not like I was going to have it done any time soon, but I *liked* my Roy-in-the-Shinsengumi. Ah well, such is life.

Ded of Weekend [28 Apr 2008|10:09am]
Ended up kidnapped to Louisville on Saturday; played some tabletop RPG that a friend put together. It was set in Riverworld, and it was ridiculously awesome. He rolled me up Kenshin to play, for fuck's sake. It was made of win. (Kenshin, Buffy, Indy and Mandrake the magician - CRACK.)

Then I got to play Guitar Hero (III) for the first time in the history of ever. That game is made of awesome and addiction and now I must own Guitar Hero and/or Rockband - preferably both. Roommate said she'd buy Guitar Hero if I got Rock Band, so... we'll see.

Dennou Coil and Battle Athletes )

New Supernatural and Avatar episodes to watch when I get home tonight, huzzah! Huzzah huzzah huzzah!

There was a Sam Winchester in that tabletop game, too. And Emma Peel, and Sherlock Holmes, Batman, Conan the Barbarian, Phobe Halliwell ... I think that's it. But lord it was made of solid CRACK. Also, Kenshin is badass and only got slightly brusied, while Indy got his ass handed to him and Buffy got stabbed. This is because Kenshin > all of you. Hardcore. xD

I finally picked up Persona 3:FES; haven't started it yet. Must do that after catch up on anime. Err, once I've started FY. So, soon.

Dum dum dum... [24 Apr 2008|12:06pm]

Soooo... payday! No paycheck yet; and apparently checks are post-dated for tomorrow, so I may yet be penniless a further day. Not. Good. I have to take care of the water bill tomorrow lest we be shut off, as well as hit the DMV to take care of the taxes on my car and my driver's license!

Oh, fun...

Also need: groceries. And Persona 3:FES.

And Impala.

Yaaaaaaaargh.

Art post!

- hagane -  )

I've been contemplating pitting the two against each other - after all, Hagane's tale runs through the birth of the Meiji era, and undoubtably the Loyalist Hagane would have run afoul of the Ishin Shishi Battousai at some time or another. It would be an epic fight....

FES [21 Apr 2008|12:50pm]
Haha, just saw an ad for Persona 3: FES! Forgot that game comes out ... yikes, tomorrow. Can't afford it at the moment, but I get paid on Thursday so we'll see how things work out. After I take care of rent, insurance, taxes on the goddamned vehicle of death and groceries we'll see if I have anything left to nab it.

New Supernatural episode on Thursday, huzzah! Of course, if my net is being as finicky as it has been the past few days I probably won't get to see it soon, but all the same. The drought is over.

Not on this paycheck but the next one I plan to get my internet back. I still owe Time-Warner around the vicinity of 300$, but once that's paid off I am in the clear. So many bills have piled up - mostly my own fault, but there's a decent amount of fault laid on current and previous roommates. The current one doesn't know how to pay a bill on time and hence, late fees that I have to eat (we'll see if she ponies up her half of the late fees. Somehow I doubt it) and previous roomie who still owes me somewhere in the vicinity of 500$. I doubt I'll ever see any of that, but I can hope, right?

I got my first Wacom tablet a few weeks back, so I can practice with it plenty in my "off-time" from the internet. Also working on a cross-stitch while transfering files off the laptop (oh-so-cleverly named Sammy) and watching boatloads of anime.

Currently watching: Dennou Coil, Battle Athletes - There May Be Spoilers Ahead )

I should clean out one of my Photobucket accounts to use for this journal; that way I can keep track of where my images are linked from. Project for later, I guess. This entry is already epic-ly long, but I'm bored and it's still lunchtime.

Ironic, I created my first LJ on my lunch in high school - seven years ago.

...without a trace. [21 Apr 2008|12:34pm]
Quietly migrating from Livejournal, this one is. I've had accounts here before, but I don't intend to link myself to them (or at least just yet). Just as I don't intend to link myself back to my livejournal ... I've had that particular screenname since 2001. Best to keep deep undercover; or as deep as I can with my particular set of interests.

Updating from work right now ... I'm on my lunch so it's tentatively "allowed" but I don't plan on making this a habit. Currently no internet at my home base, so I will likely be scarce for quite some time.

I still talk as if there are people listening. Maybe there will be, someday. But for now it's just me, my mostly-quiet fandoms, and the internet.
